Easter Service: Reading Through John 18:1-20:31 (ESV)

We have been reading through the Gospel of John for the past couple of months. Much like in small groups, we open the floor to questions and observations as we interact with John’s account, together.

Last Sunday we read through Jesus’ prayer for Himself, His disciples and for us. As Jesus states, “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word” (John 17:20, ESV).

This Easter Sunday, we will be reading through both Isaiah 52:13-53:12 and John 18:1-20:31 in the English Standard Version (ESV). The reading in Isaiah prophesied the death, burial, resurrection and ascension of Jesus around 750 years before. Today’s reading in John is his own eyewitness testimony.
