August 19, 2018 – Vision Sunday
At today’s congregational meeting we came together to look at ourselves and to open the door to where we believe the Lord is leading us. We opened the discussion with a sermon on Vision followed by comments from our shepherd, Dean Wolf, and concluding with a conversation of our present status and how we can begin meeting the needs of the people of Muskegon in Jesus’ Name.
June 17, 2018 – Father’s Day
1 Thessalonians 2:9-12; Acts 16:1-17:6
By the third week in Thessalonkia, Paul and his companions were taken out of the city and sent on to Berea because of persecution. New babes in Christ were now undergoing severe trials without Paul’s guiding influence. In Athens Paul sends Timothy to check on them and upon Timothy’s reunion with Paul in Corinth, Paul sits down to write this letter. “We were like a father to you” Paul says. This sermon asks how Paul describes that father to tie our own fatherhood to our Father in heaven and asking how we are doing.
